The FMW (fine mesh welder) uses an AC series welding circuit which is completely suited to the welding of ZnAl coated wire. This will give the best weld quality without causing welding electrode degradation with the coated wire. For this type of product this welding system is superior to any other welding system.
The machine has been specifically tooled to produce coiled mesh products. Our automatic mesh coiling system has been included. This has a traversing linewire cutter built into the coiler frame to minimise change over time between coils. Linewires and Crosswires will be taken directly off coil.
Product quality is crucial with these fine-mesh products. The FMW (fine mesh welder) machine has been specifically designed with this in mind to address the following quality requirements:
- Crosswire pitching consistency
- Linewire pitching consistency
- Weld quality and strength (specifically with coated wire)
- No wire surface damage at the welding point
- Crosswire overhangs flush trimmed with no damage to the outside linewire.
- Finished coils accurate, cylindrical and with the coil ends aligned
- Crosswire tensioning system to improve mesh flatness and geometry
The BM series of AC welding portals are designed for the simultaneous production of two strips of narrow mesh from coil. The model BMT narrow mesh welding machine is designed for the production of mesh with tee welded crosswires between the linewires. Linewires and crosswires are drawn from vertical axis payoff units with horizontal rotating platforms. The wires are automatically straightened, inserted and welded in position in the welding section of the machine. The machine is equipped with an integral shear to cut the strips to length.
The model BMW II is a fully automatic machine which draws linewires from an overhead payoff pulley arrangement with vertical axis. The overhead payof system consists of a complete gantry with upper guide and turnaround pulleys to route the linewires directly into the straightening units. Crosswires are drawn from vertical axis payoff units, straightened and placed automatically in the welding position, where it is welded, cut and automatically indexed to the correct pitch.
The CLIFFORD range of LARGE MESH WELDERS is differentiated based on customer requirements, mesh characteristics, mesh product type and investment sum available. Below find a table summarizing the three main types of CLIFFORD welding portals
The welding portal forms an integral part of the mesh line and ancillary equipment which is again dependant on customer requirements are added to this portal to arrive at a suitable aolution to customer needs. Such ancillary equipment includes line wire Payoffs, line wire control, line wire feeders, cross wire insertion, mesh extraction, shears, stacking and turning, coilers, mesh transport and other such ancillary equipment.
