The Type AS flash butt welding machine can also process oval tubes from 40 × 20 × 1.5 mm to 50 × 25 × 2.0 mm, flat material with thickness/width dimensions from 1.5 × 120 mm to 60 × 100 mm, and steel coils. Strip dimensions range from 57.2 × 1.14 mm to 124.5 × 1.4 mm and from 200.3 × 3.4 mm to 407.2 × 5.1 mm. The combined cross-sectional area based on width and thickness ranges from 65 to 2,077 mm².
